Q: Who owns Sunny D?

A: There is a completely new team at Sunny D. The brand is now run by the Sunny Delight Beverages Company (SDBC) an independent company. SDBC uses the sales and distribution expertise of Gerber Foods to support Sunny D in the UK. Gerber Foods also manufacture and sell other brands such as Ocean Spray cranberry juice, Welch's grape juice and Libby's juices.

Q: Why does Sunny D come in no added sugar (NAS) and an Original variety?

A: Sunny D California Original and Florida Original are included in the Sunny D line to give parents more choice. Sometimes parents might prefer to give their kids a drink with sugar because they need extra energy or because they prefer sugar to a sugar substitute.

Q: Does Sunny D contain real fruit juice?

A: Yes, Sunny D is a soft juice drink which contains 15% real fruit juice. Each variety contains a different mixture of the following fruit juices: orange, lime, mandarin, grapefruit, apple, pear, pineapple and passionfruit.

Q: How much vitamin C is in Sunny D?

A: Just one 200ml single glass of Sunny D contains a child's full days allowance of vitamin C. Sunny D also has a third of the daily requirement of vitamin A, vitamin B1 and vitamin B6 so has some of the other important vitamins children need built in.

Q: What is the Sunny D Parents Advisory Group?

A: The Sunny D Parents Advisory Group is a group of parents who have been recruited to represent the views of mums and dads around the UK to the new Sunny D team. Their role is to make sure that the changes the new team make to Sunny D are ones that matter to parents.

Q: What vitamins does Sunny D contain?

A: One 200ml glass of Sunny D has a full day's recommended daily allowance of vitamin C. It also has important vitamins which kids need. These are vitamin A, B1 and B6 which kids need as part of a healthy balanced diet. Sunny D should be consumed as part of a balanced diet.

Q: Do I have to keep Sunny D in the fridge?

A: Sunny D has to be stored in the refrigerator as this helps to protect the vitamins and enhance the drink's great taste. If it is not stored in the refrigerator there could be a degradation of the taste and appearance of the product.

Q: Can Sunny D turn you orange?

A: No. Sunny D contains beta-carotene, a naturally occurring ingredient found in many orange and green foods like carrots, melon and broccoli. Beta-carotene is a beneficial, safe, form of vitamin A which, if consumed in excessive amounts, can temporally change the colour of your skin. Beta-carotene has antioxidant properties, which it is believed, offers some protective benefits against developing heart disease and some cancers
